Coach XT does not work alone. Behind the Coach XT brand is a carefully built coaching ecosystem. This network includes affiliated academies, specialist coaches, and supporting organisations. Together, they serve Singapore’s tennis community at every level — from absolute beginners through to national competitive players.
By Coach XT (Tan Xu Teng) — PTR Full Professional, NROC-registered, ITF Men’s 35+ career-high World #56. Last updated: July 2026.

Understanding this tennis coaching network in Singapore helps prospective students find the right entry point and the right coaching partner for their specific goals. Whether you are picking up a racket for the first time or targeting a national ranking, there is a structured entry point designed for exactly where you are now. All coaches within this network hold recognised certifications from bodies such as the International Tennis Federation and the Professional Tennis Registry.
The World-Ranked Coaches in the Network
What separates this network from most coaching operations in Singapore is straightforward: several of our coaches hold live international rankings, not just certificates. Each of the coaches below maintains a public profile where their credentials can be independently verified.
Coach XT (Tan Xu Teng) — Founder, Head Coach
Career-high ITF Men’s 35+ World #56 — the highest ITF ranking achieved by a Singaporean player. PTR Full Professional certified, CoachSG (NROC) registered and MOE-accredited. Founder of TAG International Tennis Academy (2007) and the first Senior Coach appointed to the ActiveSG Tennis Academy. Head Coach at Nanyang Girls’ High School and Hwa Chong Institution since 2018. Read the full coaching profile on the tennis coach Singapore page.
Coach Bo Alburo — ITF Men’s 35+ World #2
Coach Alburo Lourelu is ranked World #2 in ITF Men’s 35+ singles, placing him among the highest-ranked veteran players anywhere in the world. He coaches within TAG International Tennis Academy at Winchester Tennis Arena, bringing tactical patterns tested in genuine ITF international competition into junior, private, and high-performance sessions.
Coach Kento Takeuchi — Former ATP Professional, ATP #378
Coach Kento Takeuchi (竹内研人) competed on the ATP Tour to a career-high world ranking of #378 and Japan national #7, and was the All Japan Under-18 Champion. He coaches within Sanwa X Tennis Academy at TAG @ One-North, and is the coach of choice for students who want stroke technique built to professional standard.
Coach Wataru Ochi — Head Coach, Sanwa X Tennis Academy
Coach Wataru Ochi (越智亘) brings over 25 years of elite coaching experience in Singapore and is an All Japan Championship quarterfinalist as a player. He has worked within coaching systems that developed players including Ai Sugiyama (WTA doubles World No. 1), Kimiko Date (WTA singles World No. 4) and Go Soeda (ATP World No. 42). He is a tactical and match-play specialist, and founded Sanwa X Tennis Academy in 2004.
TAG International Tennis Academy
TAG International Tennis Academy is Singapore’s largest community tennis coaching network. It was founded by Coach XT (Tan Xu Teng) in 2007. Today, TAG operates across every major region of Singapore. Over a dozen certified coaches deliver structured group and private programmes to hundreds of students every week.
TAG International is the ideal starting point for beginners, recreational players, and families. The academy offers junior development programmes, adult beginner courses, group lessons, and private coaching across Singapore’s East, Central, West, and North regions. All coaches at TAG are certified by PTR, AATC, or NROC, and registered with both CoachSG and the Ministry of Education.
For a full programme overview, see TAG’s tennis lessons Singapore page, or — if you are a parent evaluating junior programmes — the competitive junior tennis pathway.
Sanwa X Tennis Academy
Sanwa X Tennis Academy is the performance coaching brand within the Coach XT ecosystem. Founded in 2004 and led by Head Coach Wataru Ochi with former ATP professional Kento Takeuchi, it is built around coaches with genuine ATP Tour-level competitive credentials. Sanwa X applies internationally validated coaching methodology on Singapore courts, which makes it the right choice for students who want to train with coaches who have competed at the very highest levels of the professional game.
Sanwa X is particularly well-suited to intermediate and advanced players who want technically precise and tactically sophisticated coaching. In short, Sanwa X mirrors the approaches used in professional tennis development programmes worldwide. For more information, visit the Sanwa X tennis coach Singapore page. Japanese-speaking families can also read the academy’s Japanese tennis coach in Singapore page.
PickleChoo Group of Courts
Beyond tennis, Coach XT (Tan Xu Teng) is the Founder of the PickleChoo Group of Courts, Singapore’s pickleball court and coaching network. The group operates three venues — PickleChoo Arena at One-North, PickleChoo Prime at New Industrial Road, and PickleChoo Apex at Henderson — bringing the same structured, coach-led development philosophy that defines the Coach XT tennis ecosystem to pickleball players across Singapore. Players who want structured instruction rather than casual social play can book pickleball lessons with TAG-certified coaches.
How the Coaching Ecosystem Works for Students
The practical benefit of this ecosystem is seamless student progression. A student who starts with TAG International’s beginner group programme can graduate to TAG’s private coaching track. From there, they can transition into the Sanwa X performance programme. Ultimately, they can access the Coach XT high-performance pathway. All of this happens within the same coaching family, with the same foundational philosophy.
Coaches across the network know each other’s work. This means student handoffs are intelligent rather than disruptive. Students do not need to start from scratch with each new coach. Instead, they carry forward the technical foundation that has been built for them. This kind of long-term, ecosystem-based development model is rare in Singapore’s tennis landscape.
As a result, Coach XT students consistently outperform peers who have trained with multiple unconnected coaches over the same period. The numbers back this up — Coach XT’s students have won national titles at every age group from U10 to U18 and represented Singapore at the World Junior Championships, the Billie Jean King Cup, and the Davis Cup.

TAG International is the broader community coaching network, ideal for beginners, recreational players and juniors across Singapore. Sanwa X is the ATP-credentialed performance brand for players who want international-standard technical coaching. All three share the same development philosophy and offer pathways between them as a player’s needs change.

Yes. You can request a specific coach when you enquire, subject to their availability and your preferred location and time. If your first choice is unavailable, we will recommend the coach in the network whose specialism best matches your goals.
Does the network coach pickleball as well as tennis?
Yes. Coach XT founded the PickleChoo Group of Courts, which operates three Singapore venues — Arena, Prime and Apex — with TAG-certified pickleball coaches teaching everyone from first-time players to competitive teams.
